The Ribbon is a major development in Darling Harbour, Sydney. The project includes a 585-room luxury hotel, a rooftop pool deck and an IMAX theatre. PAV Drafting supported the builder and design team with architectural joinery drafting, new item design and production documentation.

The challenge
The project presented several design and coordination challenges. Some item designs were unclear, and the available information included 2D drawings from an overseas design firm that did not provide enough detail for production. The project was also placed on hold several times. Two builders collapsed during the project, and changes followed within the management and design teams.
Accurate measurements and ongoing revisions were essential. The client needed more than basic drawings. PAV Drafting had to develop completely new item designs and 3D models so the builder and design team could review each item clearly before production.
